• Melissa Robertson

    Melissa Robertson is an Assistant Professor in Psychology at the University of Georgia and the Director of the Relationships and Work Lab. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Georgia in 2018, and previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Purdue University. Melissa’s research centers on the intersection of work and relationships. She is specifically interested in 1) the development and maintenance of social relationships, and 2) how social relationships contribute to workers’ personal and professional development, inclusion, and well-being.

Current Graduate Students

  • Marta Mohedano Jurado

    Marta is a third-year international student in the lab, originally from Spain. Her research focuses on developmental relationships at work (e.g., mentorships), remote work, and the intersection between the two. She seeks to better understand how strong interpersonal bonds can be built in the workplace and lead to positive outcomes for employees. One of her favorite things about the lab is the community we have created! In her free time, Marta loves going for walks while listening to fantasy audiobooks and exploring Athens!

  • Thamengie Richard

    Thamengie is a second-year graduate student in the Relationships and Work Research Lab. Currently her research focuses on (1) the experiences of immigrants in the workplace (2) diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and (3) employee health and well-being. Thamengie is passionate about fostering globally inclusive and culturally competent workplaces that reflect our interconnected and diverse world. She hopes to contribute to this goal by advancing equitable employment practices for underrepresented communities and promoting effective science communication.

  • Carsynn Faith Miller

    Carsynn is a second-year graduate student in the lab. Carsynn grew up in Acworth, Georgia and earned a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Business from UGA in 2023. Her research interests include diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); employee well-being; and leadership/mentorship. In addition to her research, she has practical experience in numerous key areas of the field such as performance management, data analytics, training, assessment, and selection. Carsynn loves to cook, take pictures on her camera, and review movies in her free time.

  • Ana-Gabriela Osorio

    Ana-Gabriela is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology program at the University of Georgia. She received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Statistics from Florida State University. Her research interests include the challenges that immigrants face in the workplace and practical strategies to create and sustain inclusive workplace environments.
